OFF SCREEN STARS:

MUSIC : Radhakrishnan

Uday Shankar

RELEASE DATE : 14th August, 2008

Story:

Chanti (Ravi Teja) is the son of Chandramohan. He loses his mother at an early age and his uncle Krishna takes Chandramohan and Ravi Teja under his cover. Krishna runs a big construction company RK Builders. He is doing good to the people all the time but it is not relished by his rival Pradeep Rawat.

Pradeep Rawat’s enmity with Krishna dates back to his younger days when Krishna drives him away from the village for raping a young girl. Chanti loves his pedananna very much and obeys his each and every word, more than that of his father.

Krishna’s family is troubled by Pradeep Rawat in one form or the other. After a misunderstanding, Chandramohan drive his son away from home. Meanwhile Chanti meets a girl Bhanumathi (Anushka) at the railway station and she falls in love with Ravi Teja.

The responsibility is now on Chanti’s shoulder to guard his pedananna and other family members from the evil machinations of Pradeep Rawat. Chandramohan finally realizes before dying that his son chanti is not a Baladoor but a very responsible person. The rest of the story is how Chanti saves his family members from the evil Pradeep Rawat.

Performance:

Superstar Krishna makes a comeback with a lengthy role after a long time. He does a wonderful job as the head of the family. Krishna gives a mature and understated performance without resorting too many histrionics.

Ravi Teja is his ebullient self during the first half of the movie. In the second half, it is a rather serious role. He however gets to romance with Anushka a lot.

Anushka is at her sizzling best in the film. She gives a virtual feast for the eyes with her well chiseled body and looks. After Baladoor, Anushka is sure to become hot property.

Brahamanadam’s coconut breaking comedy is okay. Sunil plays a good friend of Ravi Teja. The rest of the star cast go about their jobs with reasonable conviction.

The songs have been beautiful filmed and set to some for tapping music. Director Udayshankar does a good job in the first half but the second half is a bit too lengthy and too many songs also interrupt the flow of the film.

The film is a mix of action, romance, comedy and sentiment. However it is the sentiment that gets a bit to heavy for the fans of Ravi Teja. The sentiment reminds one of films of the sixties and seventies. On the whole, the film stands as an average entertainer.
